This grant addresses workforce needs and helps nontraditional students pursue an elementary education degree.

Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (Certifiable grades 1-6) for the West Plains Campus Completion Program

The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, offered through Gohn Hall on the West Plains campus, is a unique teacher preparation program with increased field and clinical experience in the rural school districts of south central Missouri.

Upon completion of this program, you will be certified to teach elementary grades 1-6.

Field experience begins early and you will complete more than 300 hours prior to student teaching.

You will have the option of taking additional hours and gaining additional certifications which increases employability. The beginning salary for graduates in Missouri is approximately $38,000, depending on the geographic area.

This program is approved by the Missouri State Board of Education, accredited by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and nationally recognized by the Association of Childhood Education International.

You can start the evening program in the spring or the fall, depending on your credits. Contact an advisor for information about your schedule.
